Conexiones Latinas de McLean County (antes conocido como Hispanic Families Work Group) es una organización sin fines de lucro compuesta de voluntarios que comparten una pasión por mejorar y crear oportunidades para las familias hispanas y latinas en el Condado de McLean. El grupo está abierto al público y nuestros representantes son miembros de empresas locales, agencias de servicios sociales y de salud, grupos religiosos, gobiernos estatales y locales, e instituciones educativas.
Conexiones Latinas de McLean County (formerly Hispanic Families Work Group) is a non-profit organization consisting of volunteers who share a passion for improving and creating opportunities for Hispanic and Latino families in McLean County. Conexiones Latinas is open to the public and members include representatives from local businesses, social and health service agencies, faith communities, state and local government, and educational institutions.

El objetivo de Conexiones Latinas es fomentar la colaboración y lo hacemos con el intercambio de información, compartir recursos, y trabajar juntos.
Para la comunidad hispana, nos concentramos en mejorar las oportunidades para las familias latinas en el Condado de McLean.
Para los proveedores de servicios y miembros de la comunidad en el Condado de McLean, nos concentramos en ayudar unos a otros para mejor servir a las familias hispanas y latinas. En un nivel básico, compartimos información sobre los servicios comunitarios, eventos, noticias y recursos a través de nuestra página web, Facebook, lista de distribución por e-mail y nuestras reuniones. En un nivel más profundo, identificamos vacíos en la comunidad y creamos recomendaciones e implementamos soluciones.

The main purpose of Conexiones Latinas is to encourage collaboration and we do this by sharing information, sharing resources, and working together.
For the Hispanic community, we focus on improving opportunities for Latino families in McLean County.
For service providers and community members within McLean County, we focus on helping each other to better serve Hispanic and Latino families. On a basic level we share information on community services, events, news, and resources through our website, facebook page, e-mail distibution list and our meetings. At our most involved level we identify gaps in the community and pull our resources together to create recommendations and implement solutions.

Historia/History
In 2004, McLean County Judge Ronald Dozier started to express a growing concern for Hispanic families he saw unsuccessfully trying to navigate a complicated legal and non-profit system. Led by Karen Major, HFWG Chairperson 2004-2008, a social service providers meeting was convened to discuss and address the condition of Hispanic families in the local community. From those initial meetings the Hispanic Families Work Group was created as an all volunteer group with the intent of building a stronger community that embraced the Hispanic community and Latino families. Over the past six years the organization has grown to include over 100 individuals from over 40 organizations throughout McLean County while continuing to meet every month (except January and July).
Over the years Conexiones Latinas has had a lot of success and this is solely because of the hard work of countless volunteers with the support of our local organizations, schools, and businesses. Please see Project & Interns for additional information on our accomplishments:
