This is a non-exempt position which provides planned and regularly scheduled 1.5 hour home visits which includes Hispanic families with infants, toddlers or pregnant women.
Responsibilities also involve the active participation and engagement with families enrolled in ESL classes, prevention and early intervention services, screenings and referral services. Establishing partnerships to support children who are dual language learners (DLL) for optimal language development is required to promote and ensure school readiness.
RECOMMENDED REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred and equivalent work experience in social service or human development field;
- Competent with professional translation and interpretation
- Knowledge, understanding and experienced of the Hispanic culture is highly desirable;
- Maintain a case load of twelve (12) infants and toddlers and their family.
- Must have two (2) years Case Management experience or equivalent experience in social service or human development field;
- Ability to manage and supervise groups;
- Ability to make sound professional judgments;
- Effective oral and written communication skills;
- Computer knowledgeable in various software applications
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job description;
- Must have and maintain a valid Illinois Driver’s License, reliable transportation and insurance coverage as required by the State of Illinois.
