Volunteers Needed 6/8

The 2013 LATINAS UNIDAS CONTRA EL CÁNCER program needs your help this Saturday 6/8 from 8am-12pm at Western Ave Community Center (600 N Western Ave, Bloomington IL) and lunch will be provided.

The program is an all morning event geared towards Latina women within McLean County in order to provide educational segments and enroll women who need to have a mammogram (40 years and above).

Approximately  16 volunteers are needed – 8 per shift (2 hour shifts) for the day care portion of the event.

We have a total of 40 kids we are taking care of while the mothers are having their mammograms or going through the educational segments.

Shift time slots needed are 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 – 12:00 p.m. - lunch provided @ 12:30 p.m.

If you are willing to help for 2 hours that would really help the event. If you can help let us know and we will give you contact information.

Welcome to our redesigned website! As we announced on our Facebook page earlier this year - in 2013 we will be announcing a lot of news ways to connect with Conexiones Latinas and other Latinos in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois. This redesign of our website is our newest and joins our social media options of Twitter and Facebook. We also just launched a person-to-person option of calling us with a new phone number and we have a lot more planned for this website including guest bloggers, which will include local experts and community leaders. Let us know what you think. Gracias!
