Journalism Summer Program in Princeton

Bilingual Volunteer Needed – Peoria
Children’s Hospital of Illinois in Peoria is looking for a volunteer, bilingual tutor. They tutor students while they are in the hospital. One of the patients they are working with is Hispanic. Their schoolwork is all in English and is struggling to understand the work. She is a senior and is taking two classes. Can one of us help this student in need?

Citizenship Information Meeting – Beardstown
The Immigration Project is a small, not-for-profit legal immigration services agency that provides services to Central and Southern Illinois at no or low cost to immigrants and their families.
On Friday, February 10th, in the morning, we will hold a “Citizenship Information Meeting” at Lincoln Land Community College, Room B110. It will begin at 10:30 a.m. and end at 12:00 p.m. (noon). Please arrive by 10:20 a.m. This meeting is for current green card holders who are interested in applying for citizenship. (There will be no lawyer present for any other types of immigration issues.)
THIS IS OUR FIRST-EVER MEETING TO BE CONDUCTED IN ENGLISH AND FRENCH!
If you are a legal green card holder and are interested in now applying for citizenship, come to this meeting to learn what you need and how we can help you through the process, including preparing for the test.
There is no need to take anything, or to call us to register – just come! Please note that space is limited.
